About Us
The Schwendeman Agency, Inc. has a rich history and today is a third generation family business.  The agency was started in 1929 by the current owners’ grandfather, Andrew Schwendeman, who began selling insurance part time out of a general store on Marion Street. 
  • Thomas (Andrew’s son) and Norma Schwendeman (parents of Larry and Mark Schwendeman) opened an office of the Schwendeman Agency, Inc. in 1940.   Since then, the agency has grown to 20 employees and has locations in Marietta, OH, St. Clairsville, OH, and Parkersburg, WV. 
  • The agency is a full service agency handling all lines of insurance, including Employee Sponsored Employee Benefit Plans, Employer Sponsored Retirement Plans, Business Insurance and Personal Insurance such as Homeowners and Auto coverages.
